One Response to “President Eishenhower and his wife, Ida Elizabeth Stover Eisenhower, who was rumored to have Black ancestry”
In a 1950s interview, some old folks were quoted as calling her, “That black Links gal.” Apparently, they knew some of her family. No shame in it. Whatever it takes to get you here. If she had blacks in her family who came before her, then she was somewhat black and so was her son, Ike. People need to wake up and just deal with the truth. I’m tired of lies. People are who they are. That goes for lots of people who just want to be called black, too. I’m tired of black people who just say, “Oh, I’m black or I’m just black.” No you’re not. No one is pure anything anymore, they haven’t been for a long time. Stop denying it and just be who you are. If you have a great great great great grandparent who was white or Native American, etc. Then it flows through you, too. Without that person, you would not exist. Period. I hear “white” people and other races talking about how their ancestors are Irish/German/Indian, etc. They go on and on. But when they look at a black person or in lots of cases, if a black person is talking to another black and they mention a grandparent or another ancestor who is this or that, no one talks on it much. It’s kind of “glossed” over. Let’s drop the act and just admit that people are all mixed up, nothing wrong with it at all.
