President Obama Appoints First African American to Head the EPA

Lisa P. Jackson is the first African American to be appointed as the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency. She started working for the EPA in 1986, and eventually joined the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, where she was named Commissioner. After being appointed by President Obama as the Administrator of the EPA, she was confirmed unanimously in the Senate. This is a question out of curiosity but how is she black? She looks pretty white to me or at least Hispanic.
